Underwater Go and Chess

Hey there.

As well as our usual meeting this Wednesday, we’re going to have some underwater chess and go on Thursday. As if go on it’s own isn’t enticing enough there will be loads of sexy half naked go and chess players to perve on. How can you afford to miss it?

It’ll be in the Galway Bay Hotel from 9pm. A few of us are going to meet in Smokey’s at 8 and head from there. Join us.

Meeting this evening

Hey everyone. We’re going to have a second meeting this week. We’ll be in the Asian Lounge this evening from 8pm and there’ll be chess, go and cards. Should be fun.

And now for some cake related news. We’ve had three delicious entries so far to the pineapple cake competition in the latest Knight’s Atari. 

The competition is still open until the end of November so come along next Wednesday and there’s a good chance you’ll get some free cake. Better yet, bake a cake for a chance to win 100 euro.

UCC Tournament, like.

What do you think of Cork people?

If you’d like to observe the native Corkonian in his/her native territory then this weekend is the perfect opportunity. I’m sure you’ve all heard me harp on about it already. The UCC go tournament is on this Saturday and Sunday. Please let us know if you’d like to go down to play some go or just come for the craic so we can organise when to leave, book accommodation etc… It’s definitely one of the tournaments I’d recommend this year as it’s organised by a rival university and they’ll even have a prize for best beginner. Anyways, let us know if you’re up for heading down, baaaaaaiiii.

New Knight’s Atari Out Now

Hey there everybody.

November’s issue of our wonderful newsletter, Knight’s Atari, is out now. It’s full of all sorts of good stuff, including puzzles, a competition (win 100 euro!), and even a fashion page and recipe page (although this recipe seems very tricky). Make sure to keep an eye out for it. There are copies all round campus. This month’s issue has a lot of goodies for the raging go fanatic as well. There are some delightful life and death puzzles, a short lesson on the history of go and even some advice on go etiquette, so you don’t embarrass yourself. Previous issues can be found online, just in case you would like to read every issue, starting from scratch. This month’s issue isn’t up online as of yet, but will be soon, so if you’re one of our national or international readers (of which I’m sure we have many), well you’ll just have to wait.

Of course, we will bring along a whole bunch of copies to the meeting tomorrow evening so you can read one if you start to get bored, even though that is NOT POSSIBLE because you will be at the Go Society.
