Irish Go Congress Results

The Irish Go Congress took place last weekend which consisted of a rapid tournament on Friday evening followed by the Confucius Cup over Saturday and Sunday.

Our auditor Tom came away with a more than respectable 3 wins out of 5 :), and yours truly gave a shameful (just shameful!) 0 wins out of 5 performance 😦

I blame my hangover in full for my poor performance. Things went on a little too late after the rapid on Friday. That reminds me, Tom will be disappointed if I don’t mention how he beat a four dan in the rapid tournament! Now he did have a nine stones handicap AND 60 points to begin with (the rapid was crazzzay!) but fair play to him all the same.

Now I have to go practice for the next tournament, which, by the way, is in Galway on the 26th and 27th of May (so everyone in the club should enter!). See ye next Wednesday,
