Galway Go Tournament Results

Well we had a great time playing go at the Galway Go tournament. It was beautiful- the weather that is.

The tournament itself was exciting with the bar set quite low, at 10k, so almost anyone could have won. Well that is if there wasn’t that 3D over from Holland to steal the show with 5 straight wins, none of us could stop him, even your beloved auditor (He trashed me with 9 stones 😦 ).

A mention to our friends from Cork, we must thank you for attending, and to Justyna- congratulations on second place. Marek managed third (even he couldn’t stop our Dutch friend), although we must say that he deserves a promotion after the weekend. And finally an Irishman places fourth, our Rory from Cork with a respectable 3 wins, although one of those was against myself and I had him on the ropes for a while until suddenly I made the losing move or rather fecked up!

A thank you to all those who traveled to the tournament, from Dublin and Kerry and those from Galway too.

 

Unfortunately we at the society didn’t do too well (only 3 wins between us) as you can see from the result table, but next time…
